Human Resources – Generalist

Position Overview

In this role, the HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruiting for open positions, administering pay, benefits, leave, and assisting with the training and development programs. NRS uses a PEO firm to provide key HR services including payroll, benefits management, and compliance. This position will also manage and/or implement several internal policies and procedures, including but not limited to diversity, equity, inclusion, certain ESG-related policies, and expense reporting. It is also expected that this 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to develop and execute HR programs including but not limited to ESG compliance, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters, performance, and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; training and development
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Manage the operational performance of PEO firm
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resource, talent management, and employment law
  • Develop and implement all phases of the recruitment process
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify and draft job description, hiring criteria, and recommended salary ranges 
  • Conduct or coordinate with hiring managers (as assigned) all initial interviews and follow-up interviews 
  • Work with hiring managers from start of open position through onboarding 
  • Own all recruitment vendor relationships and manage all career pages and sites 
  • Conduct all pre-employment processes including offer letter signatures, required documents and training, and background checks, etc. 
  • Develop, implement, and conduct a Day One orientation for all new hires which will include information on the company, values, “need to know items,” systems and tools they will use, overview of required training and benefits 
  • Develop and implement recruitment people analytics (time to fill, time to hire, cost to hire, etc.) 
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • Travel less than 10%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required 
  • Three to five years’ experience managing the recruitment process phases and administration of routine HR responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with negotiations  
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of positions 
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative 
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines 
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to human resources 
  • Proficient with tracking software or other requirement systems 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and LinkedIn
