Antelope Ridge

Project Overview

Antelope Ridge Energy represents a unique opportunity for National Renewable Solutions. While working the Broadview Energy projects in Curry County, NM, the Antelope Ridge landowner group introduced themselves to the NRS team. Fortunately, many of the project elements match those that the NRS team has already worked through and builds on the relationships developed in the community.

National Renewable Solutions and the Antelope Ridge landowners have agreed on the development of a 30,000-acre wind/solar site in Curry County, NM, approximately ten miles south of the Broadview projects. This landowner group of 23 landowners have signed a Letter of Intent with NRS and we are in the process of executing lease options. The original landowners represented approximately 15,000 acres of property and who have also identified the necessary landowners to increase the footprint to support a 250-300MW wind project.

In light of recent legislation in the state of New Mexico and emerging news of coal plants in the state, NRS is also considering sites within the Antelope Ridge footprint for a smaller-scale solar consistent with the recent state legislative guidance.

The Antelope Ridge landowner group had previously measured and collected wind data from an onsite 50m met tower for three years. This data has been provided to the NRS team for evaluation and incorporation into the project development details. Building upon the findings in the Broadview Energy projects, NRS estimates 100m wind speeds in the range of 8.7-8.9mps

In the vicinity of the footprint, the project has direct access to Farmers Electric Cooperative (FEC) transmission lines, Southwest Power Pool (SPP), and Public Service of New Mexico (PNM) through the Blackwater Substation, approximately 20 miles to the south. The Western Interconnect transmission line, which runs from the Broadview site to Blackwater, is adjacent to the east of the Antelope Ridge site.
