National Renewable Solutions has been in discussions with several key landowners in southern Union County, who control sufficient acres to assure the ability to develop a 60,000 – 70,000-acre footprint, This footprint has wind speeds around 8.8mps. The footprints represent an opportunity for 600 MW or more, of wind projects. Mesalands Community College has maintained a local data collection campaign in conjunction with the wind curriculum and has expressed its willingness to share met tower data with NRS in support of the development efforts.
The development area is served by a local Rural Electric Association and PNM and has access to local Tri-State and SPP transmission lines within reach through the development of a generation tie-line to reach those systems.
In mid 2021, NRS was acquired by BlackRock Real Assets – Climate Infrastructure Group* (“BlackRock”) with the intention of accelerating the development of its pipeline of projects toward financing, construction, and operations. With NRS’ on-the-ground development and origination expertise and BlackRock’s capital markets support and global reach, we have positioned ourselves as a major player in the U.S. renewable energy market.
